With the successful presentation of its 4th edition in 2025, AFF continues to affirm its role as a durable and unifying force within Africa's contemporary creative landscape.
The Africa Foto Fair (AFF) concluded its successful fourth edition on December 7, 2025, following its opening on November 12 in Côte d’Ivoire. The festival strategically utilized two distinct locations: the economic hub of Abidjan and the historic UNESCO World Heritage site of Grand-Bassam. Over its four editions, the fair has cemented its role as a strong bridge between people and cultures, attracting more than 5,000 visitors over just 17 days of exhibition. The fourth edition adopted a two-phase, decentralized format across Côte d’ivoire, commencing in Abidjan with the official inauguration at the Institut français de Côte d’Ivoire from November 12 to November 17, featuring the inaugural exhibition, Gaze Eternal: Ethiopia Past and Future, which paid tribute to the archives and collective memory of Ethiopia. The Abidjan phase continued at Galerie Studer with The Print Room, an exhibition of purchasable prints from three previous AFF editions by emerging and established artists.
The focus then shifted to Grand-Bassam for the main exhibition program, anchored by the newly renovated La Maison de l’Art, which hosted the solo exhibition Amazigeh by Algerian photographer Ferhat Bouda. The central hub, located at Aunty Rosa House, presented Lines of Sight: Africa Now, showcasing the AFF 2025 Collection featuring 73 African and international photographers. Local Ivorian talent was highlighted at Laurenceairline Vision Ivoire, presenting works by 11 emerging Ivorian artists. Finally, the historic private residence Comptoir 1909, transformed into a gallery for the first time, hosted two key exhibitions: Constant Bloom by American photographer Lucas Foglia, with scenography by Mohamed Beldouji, and EN Escena, curated by Marta Soul of the Cómo Ser Fotógrafa platform, featuring 32 Spanish and Latin American women photographers
